Qualifications

CPA License Certification (Florida) in good standing
5+ years accounting experience
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Master of Science in Accounting preferred but not required
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, strong ethics and business conduct
Able to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment
Proficient in Quickbooks, QuickBooks Online, Lacerte Tax, Tvalue, Microsoft Office
Knowledge in start-ups and R&D companies
Knowledge about construction, hospitality and healthcare industries a plus
Experience working for a CPA firm preferred

Primary Responsibilities

Conduct tax interviews with clients
Request, collect, and compile all necessary documents
Prepare and review financial documents and income tax returns
Advise business owners and individuals regarding the tax code
Analyze financial records to prepare tax returns
Analyze financial documents to make recommendations for improving operations or lowering tax liabilities
Reconcile financial statements
Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations at all times
Maintain constant communication with the IRS, State Agencies, and our clients
Help clients plan for long-term financial goals, such as retirement
Keep highly organized and updated client files
Work as required during tax season to meet federal and state deadlines
